1. Data Transmission Security

Our website uses HTTPS (HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure) with SSL/TLS encryption across all pages. This means that any data you submit — including your name, phone number, vehicle details, and email address — is encrypted during transmission between your browser and our servers.

2. Data Storage Security

Personal data collected through this platform is stored on secure, access-controlled servers. We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • Role-based access controls limiting who can view or process personal data;
  • Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments;
  • Secure database configurations with encrypted storage for sensitive fields;
  • Regular software and security patch management.

3. Payment Security

My Car Value does not store payment card details on its servers. All subscription payments are processed through a third-party payment gateway that is PCI-DSS compliant. Your payment details are handled entirely within that provider’s secure environment.

4. Third-Party Access

We share limited personal data with third parties only where necessary to operate the platform (e.g., registered buyer businesses receiving seller leads, analytics providers). All third-party data sharing is governed by our Privacy Policy. We do not sell personal data to third parties.

5. Your Responsibilities

While we take every reasonable measure to protect your data, you also play a role in keeping your information secure:

  • Do not share your submission confirmation details with others;
  • Be cautious of unsolicited contacts claiming to be from My Car Value — we will never ask for payment via bank transfer, gift cards, or cryptocurrency;
  • Report suspicious communications to support@mycarvalue.com.au immediately.

6. Reporting a Security Vulnerability

If you discover a security vulnerability on mycarvalue.com.au, we ask that you report it responsibly by emailing support@mycarvalue.com.au with the subject line ‘Security Vulnerability Report’. Please do not publicly disclose the vulnerability before giving us a reasonable opportunity to investigate and address it.

We appreciate responsible disclosure and will acknowledge all valid reports promptly.

7. Data Breach Response

In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm to individuals, My Car Value will comply with its mandatory data breach notification obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Notifiable Data Breaches scheme). Affected individuals will be notified as required by law.
